Big Bike for C.H.E.O.

During the Perth Fair Parade, each Labour Day weekend, thirty Civitans can be found riding a bicycle built for thirty along the parade route.   All of these riders have acquired sponsors for their efforts.  As this is a joint project with the Perth Junior Civitan Club, the Junior Civitans walk along side of the bicycle collecting donations for the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario.  For the past several years this has been a very successful project for our clubs, allowing us to donate over $2,000 annually to the Childrens' Hospital of Eastern Ontario from this project alone.

Perth Fair Dunk Tank.

While some Civitans are riding the big bike in the parade, others are making preparations over at the fairgrounds for our participation in the Perth Fair.  Civitan members, as well as numerous special guests and celebrities sit on board suspended over a tank full of cold water awaiting the inevitable, a direct hit on the target and they are sent splashing into the water.  This is a good fundraiser for the Civitan Club of Perth and we have a lot of fun doing this project.  All profits from this fundraiser are reinvested in the Perth community.

Big Buck Contest

The Civitan Club of Perth does not rest during hunting season.  Tickets for our Big Buck contest are available at several outlets in Lanark, Leeds and Frontenac Counties.  Weigh-in stations are also available in the same areas.  Prizes are awarded for the biggest buck, the biggest doe and there is also a prize draw for those who do not win in the previous two categories.  Prizes awarded in this contest are generally quite substantial.
